These rodents were introduced from America between 1876 and 1929, and at the same time funnily enough our native red squirrel started to decline. they are mature at about 10 months old and have about 3 litters per year and litter size can vary between 1 to 8 young. Its diet can vary from nuts fruit and occasionally birds eggs will be on the menu and will eat between 40-80 grams per day. Squirrels look lovely little creatures running around your garden but corner one in your loft and you will see a vast difference in this lovely rodent especially if it has young, it will attack bite and scratch you which can cause infections like Lymes Disease, Leptospirosis and Salmonella.
The Procedure
We have access to professional products for these rodents and have been trained correctly, it is illegal to use rat poison or rat traps for Squirrels and it is also illegal to release a trapped squirrel back into the wild. plus if you have bats in your loft which you may not know about and one gets injured or killed you will be in court very shortly afterwards and could get a prison sentence as bats are very heavily protected. Another thing to remember is what is called secondary poisoning which is where you use a poison yourself and the squirrel dies outside full of the poison you have used and then the squirrel is eaten by something else this is where you end up in trouble so it is definitly wise to leave this one to us.
